Want to relax and unwind? Kernock, in SE Cornwall, provides the ideal location: 4 luxury cottages (one accessible and all dog welcoming), each with private hot tub and garden, with the benefit of the views and tranquility of a private, sustainable, 22-acre estate which includes a 6-acre dog park ‘Central Bark’.
We are not too far into Cornwall so are very accessible for a short break. There is a superb choice of restaurants and pubs in the area for dining out.
If you wish to indulge in the finest for a special occasion, see our blog posted 10 December for the ‘best of the best‘. All local foodie venues, arranged by distance from Kernock, can be found on our pubs, cafes and restaurants information page. If you don’t want to go far, our local pub which is walkable (1km) from Kernock serves traditional pub food (and welcomes dogs).

Really wonderful short break The dogs love the place, Central Bark is just heaven! It is so lovely to be somewhere where dogs are welcomed, not just tolerated. We stayed in Little Owl, which was perfect for the two of us & the two dogs.
Perfect for dogs and humans! This was our second visit to Kernock cottages and our memories were rekindled in spades! These cottages are truly dog friendly with secure gardens and 6 acres of fenced fields and woodlands for inquisitive dogs like ours to explore. Damian and Louise are fantastic hosts with many helpful tips and recommendations for walks, beaches, pubs etc. They are always on hand to answer a query but never intrusive. The cottages (we’ve stayed in 2 different ones) are cosy, clean and well equipped with welcome gifts for your canine companions and a well stocked welcome pack for you. The views from the hot tub at Tree Barn are delightful, especially with a glass of wine or 2! So, would I recommend Kernock Cottages? Definitely!
Fabulous relaxing Cornwall location We booked a stay at the Coach House because we wanted a relaxing holiday with our dog. When we saw how dog friendly the accomodation was we couldn’t say no, and I’m so glad we didn’t! It’s quite often you’ll book somewhere ‘dog friendly’ only to arrive and find out there are a long list of rules to follow. Kernock cottages are the definition of dog friendly, even providing a secure walking location on site. It’s the perfect getaway for pooches and people! November 2024
Ten out of Ten! We had a wonderful three night stay at the Coach house. The facilities, including secure dog walking field, hot tub (used every night!) and the accommodation itself were all top notch. Damian is a very attentive, affable and informative host and provides details on a plethora of walks and other things to do locally. The welcome pack was great too and much appreciated by humans and canines alike. In a nutshell, they love dogs, there is a hot tub and you and your doggy friend will love staying here! We will certainly be back!
Perfect Place to Stay with Excellent Hosts on Hand A wonderful little cottage for 2 of us and our dog for a 2 night stay. The setting was lovely, peaceful and overlooked a beautiful valley and the cottage was very well kitted out. There was a generous food and drink hamper as well as a few bits for our dog waiting for us. Our hosts were so helpful and friendly and provided the most comprehensive set of information about things to do and see we’ve ever had and talked us through everything, which was really useful. The hot tub was so relaxing after long walks along the coast and rivers. There are so many beautiful walks and places to visit, we all loved it. Crocadon cafe and restaurant were definitely worth a visit – the pastries and coffee in the cafe were delicious and the dinner at the restaurant was one of the best and most unusual meals we’ve ever eaten – and in such a special setting. We would definitely make a return visit.
