Cornwall has a reputation for fresh produce and fine food prepared by skilled chefs. Guests are talking about the fantastic choice of very special restaurants in South East Cornwall that pride themselves on the quality of their ingredients; sourced locally or home grown. We showcase here three of the best local fine dining restaurants, as recommended by guests staying at Kernock Cottages over Easter 2024. If you are tempted, reservations are required, so contact your chosen restaurant to book a table when you book your Kernock Cottage, to avoid disappointment.
Crocadon Farm
Less than 3 miles from Kernock and proving so popular, especially now that they have a Michelin Red-star to go with their earlier Michelin Green-star. The restaurant is based on a 120-acre organic farm, which opened February 2023. The Michelin Green-star was awarded the following month. The menu is led by what is in season on the farm providing a fabulous field-to-fork fine dining experience. Open Thursday to Saturday for evening taster menus, and for Sunday lunch that is also a popular option.
The Sardine Factory
This gem of a place never seems to disappoint – I am sure that is due to the strength of the team at this fabulous restaurant in Looe. Chef patron, Ben Palmer, has recently won the starter at the banquet of the Great British Menu 2024, and Head Chef, Charlie Walters who excelled getting to the last four in Master Chef The Professionals 2023. There is an optional special Great British Menu for a limited period. The lovely harbour town of Looe is just 14.5 miles from Kernock. You do need to book well in advance for dinner.
Coombeshead Farm
We are grateful to recent guests for introducing us to this special restaurant on a farm just 16 miles from Kernock. Another ‘field to fork’ restaurant and one that we have not featured before – rest assured we will try this place ourselves before adding details to our website, but it comes on very good recommendation this week.
